In conjunction with the launch of the guidance week at the university, the Continuing Education Division, in cooperation with the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Veterinary Medicine, held a workshop entitled “Infectious Genital Tumors in Dogs”, in the presence of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Mahmoud Adeeb Agha, the President of the Iraqi Doctors Syndicate, the President of the Kirkuk and Tracy Branch of the Doctors Syndicate, and the college students. The workshop included a lecture given by Ms. Fatima Jumaa Asghar, which addressed the importance of treating infectious genital tumors that affect dog breeds, especially stray ones, as they are quickly transmitted between them, and are considered one of the infectious and endemic diseases in the Middle East region. Another lecture was given by veterinarian Ali Sarmed Karim, in which he explained the important role of the British War Paws organization in saving dogs, and emphasized the development of veterinarian skills throughout Iraq. The lecture recommended the need to pay attention to the reserves that belong to stray dogs in Kirkuk Governorate, and to emphasize the periodic vaccination operations for them.
