At 12 noon on Monday, 11/13/2023, under the supervision of the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Kamal Ali Saleh, and as part of a series of weekly continuing education activities, the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Kirkuk held a discussion panel entitled (Awareness of Drug Abuse and Addiction), in the presence of The Dean of the College, the teaching staff, and the members, and the episode included a lecture delivered by M. Al-Mu'taz Billah Khaled Naji, in which he touched on the reasons for drug abuse and the danger of its addiction among young people and its negative impact on human health and its repercussions on society at the various social, economic, and cultural levels and on public relations between individuals. . The lecturer also touched on how to prevent the phenomenon of addiction and early intervention to detect and treat addicts. The lecturer also recommended following preventive methods for the phenomenon and preventing young people from falling into the mafia network as victims of addiction by encouraging them to engage in youth activities such as sports and arts of all kinds and resorting to cultural, literary and artistic forums, as well as activating The role of governmental and non-governmental media networks, seeking the assistance of specialist doctors, and strengthening government financial and moral support to reach the shore of safety and recovering our youth from the phenomenon of drug addiction in order to build a conscious, educated and informed generation to ensure the future of our dear Iraq and develop the scientific, cultural and social capabilities of our dear children.
