Teaching participation as a member of a master's thesis defense committee at the Northern Technical University

Dr. Silda Saeed Yassin, a faculty member at the College of Veterinary Medicine, participated as a member of the committee that discussed the Master's thesis entitled "Characterization of Gut Microbiota Imbalance in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder" by student Iman Mumtaz Omar at the College of Health and Medical Technologies, Northern Technical University.

The thesis addressed the identification and characterization of bacterial species isolated from stool samples and their relationship to immunological and nutritional markers in children with autism spectrum disorder. It also included measuring the levels of cytokines Tnf-a, IL-8, IL-6, and IL-10, in addition to evaluating the complete blood count and iron and ferritin levels.

The thesis aimed to identify the bacterial patterns associated with gut microbiota imbalance and to assess changes in immunological and nutritional markers in children with autism spectrum disorder.
