The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine organizes a scientific seminar on animal welfare.

Under the guidance of the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Shahd Abbas Al-Attar, and based on the principle of joint cooperation between our college and the Kirkuk branch of the Iraqi Veterinary Syndicate, a scientific seminar entitled "Improving Veterinary Practices and Animal Welfare in Kirkuk" was organized. The seminar was attended by a number of veterinarians and owners of veterinary clinics in Kirkuk Governorate.

The seminar included a lecture delivered by Dr. Ziad Aref, Head of the Kirkuk branch of the Iraqi Veterinary Syndicate, who addressed the most prominent ways to contribute to developing veterinary work and strengthening adherence to professional and ethical standards aimed at achieving animal welfare, in accordance with modern veterinary practices.

Dr. Mustafa Qasim emphasized that the seminar concluded with several recommendations, the most important of which were adherence to the instructions and regulations issued by the Iraqi Veterinary Syndicate, and the necessity of refraining from supplying veterinary medicines, vaccines, and food products to individuals impersonating veterinarians. This is essential for elevating the veterinary profession, contributing to the preservation of livestock, and protecting consumers.
