The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine organizes a seminar on the importance of vaccines for poultry

The College of Veterinary Medicine organized a seminar entitled "The Importance of Vaccines in Disease Prevention in Poultry Farms," attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Shahd Abbas Al-Attar, his assistants, and faculty members.

The seminar included a lecture by Assistant Lecturer Abbas Najm Al-Din, who addressed a crucial aspect of vaccine use in poultry farms. He explained how vaccines protect against the spread of deadly diseases such as Newcastle disease, avian influenza, and Gumboro disease, contributing to reduced poultry mortality and increased profits. Vaccines are a fundamental component of biosecurity, and the lecture emphasized the importance of storing vaccines at specific temperatures and avoiding vaccination of sick or stressed poultry.

The seminar aimed to highlight the importance of selecting the appropriate time for poultry vaccination through various immunological tests. It also stressed the necessity of using chlorine-free water, adhering strictly to hygiene and sterilization protocols, and properly disposing of empty containers as essential conditions for ensuring biosecurity.
