Under the guidance of the Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, Professor Dr. Shahd Abbas Al-Attar, and in cooperation with the Deanship of the College of Agriculture at Kirkuk University, and in implementation of the Iraqi National Security Strategy (Iraq First), a scientific seminar entitled "Food Security from Farm to Table" was organized, with the participation of faculty members. The seminar included a lecture delivered by Dr. Haider Bahjat Naseh, a faculty member at the College of Agriculture, Kirkuk University, in which he addressed the importance of food security in ensuring access to sufficient, safe, and nutritious food to improve the nutritional and health status of society. This requires an integrated system that guarantees its production, distribution, and delivery to the consumer, relying on crop diversity and sustainable agricultural practices, especially modern technologies. It is worth noting that food processing and its availability in local markets are among the most important factors of food security. The lecturer recommended the necessity of encouraging local agriculture, developing infrastructure, supporting agricultural research and innovation, and raising community awareness of the importance of maintaining food security.
