As part of the medical activities of veterinarians and students of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the Teaching Veterinary Clinic, a case of a horse suffering from an excess bone growth in the metatarsus (exostosis) was reported. The treating physician explained that this condition often occurs as a result of trauma or congenital deformities in the formation of the forelimbs (base wide and base narrow). After conducting the necessary clinical and laboratory examinations and diagnosing the medical condition, a surgical operation was performed to remove the lower part of the second metatarsal bone and provide the patient with the necessary medical treatment. The breeder was also instructed to follow veterinary instructions and guidelines to avoid health complications. It is worth noting that all health and treatment services are provided at the Teaching Veterinary Clinic free of charge.
