Prof. Dr. Shahd Abbas Al-Attar, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, participated in the meeting of the General Secretariat of the Association of Arab Universities - the Scientific Association of Arab Veterinary Faculties, which was held on the sidelines of the 13th International Conference of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine - Mansoura University, from 28 to 30 September 2025, in Ras El Bar, Egypt. The meeting included a speech by the Secretary-General of the Association, Prof. Dr. Maysar Omar Al-Akash, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the Jordan University of Science and Technology, who welcomed all attendees. A large number of deans of veterinary medicine faculties in the Arab world participated in the meeting, and the meeting discussed a number of important topics related to the development of veterinary education in the Arab world and enhancing academic scientific accreditation, in addition to examining prospects for joint scientific and research cooperation between Arab universities, emphasizing the importance of exchanging scientific expertise and experiences, and discussing research initiatives and projects that contribute to unifying efforts and interconnection between veterinary medicine faculties across the Arab world. The meeting resulted in a wide range of recommendations that will significantly contribute to the development of the veterinary education sector, most notably the establishment of an electronic platform directly linked to the association's website, the exchange of teaching experiences and student training between all faculties of veterinary medicine, the development of academic curricula, and the launch of a peer-reviewed scientific journal issued by the association. It is worth noting that the date and location of the association's next annual meeting have been set at the University of Baghdad in the Republic of Iraq.
