Under the slogan of Pink October, the College of Veterinary Medicine organizes an awareness seminar on the dangers of breast cancer

The University Psychological Counseling Division and the Women's Affairs Unit at the College of Veterinary Medicine, in cooperation with the Women's Affairs Unit at the College of Nursing, organized an awareness seminar entitled "Periodic Screening for Early Detection of Breast Cancer." The seminar was attended by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Shahd Abbas Al-Attar, his assistants, and faculty members. The seminar included a lecture by Assistant Professor Dr. Suhaila Mohammed Ali, a faculty member at the College of Nursing, who discussed the most important causes of breast cancer in most women. She explained that recent studies indicate that the most important factors contributing to this disease are the presence of the BRCA1 or BRCA2 genes, being over fifty years of age, and in some cases, the cause is hereditary. She added that one of the most important symptoms of breast cancer is a large, painless lump accompanied by redness and swelling in the affected area. The seminar aimed to provide a detailed explanation of how to avoid breast cancer through regular early screening, consuming healthy foods containing Omega-3 fatty acids, losing excess weight, and exercising regularly.
