Teaching participation in a master’s thesis discussion committee at the College of Education for Pure Sciences.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Silda Saeed Yassin, Head of the Microbiology Department at the College of Veterinary Medicine, participated in the discussion committee of a master’s thesis entitled “The Effect of Silver Nanoparticles on Some Pathogens Isolated from Wound and Burn Infections” for the student Iman Mohammed Saleh Khader at the College of Education for Pure Sciences at the University of Kirkuk. In her study, the researcher addressed the isolation and diagnosis of some pathogens using diagnostic methods and the use of the Vitik Compact System. The resistance of bacterial isolates to 16 antibiotics was tested and the results showed a high percentage of resistance of bacterial isolates to Ampicillin, Cefotaxime, Ceftazidime, and Clindamycin. The resistance test of fungal isolates to five types of antibiotics was conducted and the isolates showed a percentage of resistance to each of them: Nystatin and Amphotericin. The study aimed to know the inhibitory effect of silver nanoparticles on bacterial and fungal isolates depending on different concentrations and all concentrations showed Effective in inhibiting growth. The results of the synergistic effect of silver nanoparticles with some powdered antibiotics showed an increase in the effectiveness of some antibiotics against bacterial isolates.
