The College of Veterinary Medicine held a workshop entitled “Ethics of the Veterinary Profession”, in the presence of the Dean of the College, Lecturer Dr. Mahmoud Adeeb Agha, and the college students. The workshop included a lecture given by Prof. Dr. Qasim Sakran Abbas, in which he addressed the ethics of the veterinary profession, which is considered the first line of defense for humans and their protection from communicable diseases. He is also considered directly responsible for preserving livestock from the risk of epidemics and diseases. The lecturer recommended the necessity of activating the role of the veterinarian, who is responsible for the supervisory and health role through periodic inspection of animal products such as meat, poultry, fish, dairy products and their derivatives before they reach the consumer.
