The College of Veterinary Medicine held a discussion session entitled “The Role of Security Agencies and National Policies in Combating Extremism” in the presence of the Dean of the College, the teaching staff and the affiliates. The session included a lecture given by M.M. (Walid Mahdi Abdullah) on the prevalence of extremism and fanaticism as a single language on the scene and the necessity of combating this phenomenon. Extremism becomes a threat that must be paid attention to when it transforms from thought and theory to action and implementation through excommunicating others and violating their rights. The lecturer recommended the necessity of promoting the values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence through awareness, education and dialogue in addition to implementing a comprehensive strategy that addresses the social and economic roots of extremism.
