The College of Veterinary Medicine holds an awareness lecture for students entitled (Supporting the Family Against the Scourge of Drugs).

The College of Veterinary Medicine, as part of the activities of the Women’s Affairs Unit and under the supervision of the Dean of the College, held an awareness lecture for students entitled Supporting the Family Against the Scourge of Drugs. The lecture included the lecture given by Prof. Hiyam Rashid Shehab, in which she touched on the fact that the family has an effective role in combating drugs, as it is the first line of defense for building conscious thought and actions. Therefore, the role of the family in raising awareness can be summed up in several things, which are talking to the children on an ongoing basis, especially in matters of raising awareness about drugs and their harms, listening well and listening to the children, finding solutions to their problems without violence, establishing friendly relations between the parents and the children, knowing all their friends, and sharing interests with them
