The College of Veterinary Medicine held a seminar entitled acid rain and its environmental risks in the presence of the college’s members. The seminar included a lecture given by Prof. Thikra Abdel-Wahab Mustafa, in which she presented a definition of acid rain. It is rain or any form of precipitation that is more acidic than normal, meaning it contains High levels of hydrogen ions due to the increased emission of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide as a result of human activity and the emergence of environmental problems. The lecturer recommended the necessity of reducing emissions of these harmful gases to preserve environmental, terrestrial and water systems and human health.
