The College of Veterinary Medicine held a seminar entitled Reproduction in Buffalo, in the presence of the Dean of the College, the faculty, and the participants. The seminar included a lecture given by Eng. Fatima Jumah Asghar about the buffalo and its economic importance in Iraq as part of the country’s livestock. The lecture touched on the special characteristics of this animal, its behaviors, and the environment in which it Their suitability, the geographical distribution of their presence, and the statistics of their numbers in the country. It also touched on the obstacles facing buffalo rearing, which affect their reproductive efficiency and production quantities. The lecture recommended following some modern methods and techniques in buffalo rearing.
