Under the direction of the College Dean, Prof. Dr. Shahad Abbas Al-Attar, a training course titled "Energy Drinks and Their Physiological Effects on the Body" was organized for college staff. The course featured a lecture by Assistant Lecturer Damat Fakkart, who explained that energy drinks often contain caffeine and other ingredients that stimulate the nervous system by increasing alertness and attention. She noted that they can also cause a temporary rise in heart rate and, at times, blood pressure, while excessive consumption may lead to tremors, anxiety, and psychological stress.
The course recommended avoiding the overconsumption of energy drinks and ensuring that daily caffeine intake does not exceed 400 milligrams. The lecturer also emphasized the need for children, adolescents, and pregnant women—as well as individuals with caffeine sensitivity—to avoid these beverages.
