Under the guidance of the Dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine, Professor Dr. Shahd Abbas Al-Attar, the Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Unit organized a seminar entitled "Together for a Drug-Free Society: Prevention and Awareness to Protect Future Generations," attended by first-year students. The seminar included a lecture delivered by Assistant Lecturer Abbas Najm Al-Din, who addressed the close relationship between psychological stress and the increased susceptibility of students to drug use. Recent studies have confirmed that weak psychological, social, and environmental skills, coupled with academic pressures and family breakdown lacking support, assistance, or encouragement, are among the most important and prominent factors leading some students to negative thinking and resorting to drugs as a means of escaping the harsh social reality they experience. The lecture aimed to highlight the importance of raising awareness among students through social and educational education, clarifying the dangers of drug addiction, and the necessity of providing a supportive university and academic environment, both psychologically and physically, for all our students.
