Under the direction of the Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Shahd Abbas Al-Attar, the Department of Media and Government Communication at the College of Veterinary Medicine organized a large celebration to coincide with the Iraqi National Day, which falls on the third of October every year, as an expression of the value of true belonging to the homeland and the consolidation of national identity among all. Al-Attar emphasized that “the National Day is an invitation to every Iraqi to think about his role in building a better future for the country, and to work to promote unity and peace, and to stand together to build a strong and advanced Iraq at all levels.” The National Day activities included playing national anthems that reflect the students’ national belonging and the feeling of pride and honor in national sovereignty, raising the Iraqi flags that represent the sanctity of this day, and distributing brochures that embody the values and principles of patriotism.
