The Women's Empowerment Unit was established in our college on November 23, 2021.

The name of the unit was later changed to the Women's Affairs Unit.

The Women's Empowerment Unit is one of the important units that seeks to eliminate all forms of discrimination against women through mechanisms that enable women to rely on themselves. Women's empowerment contributes to a more inclusive and participatory development process between men and women. Development should not be limited to social welfare for women, but should aim to empower women with economic and social capabilities that enable them to become self-reliant, continuously improve their living conditions, and participate effectively in decision-making.

1. Involving women in leadership roles.
2. Encouraging women's participation in committees and public roles.
3. Providing non-traditional educational and training opportunities for women.
4. Promoting women's participation in the decision-making process.
5. Formulating and supervising the implementation of all initiatives, plans, and projects related to women.
6. Supporting young female researchers who produce outstanding research at an early stage of their doctoral studies, according to specialized committees responsible for selecting outstanding research works for support.
7. Honoring creative and distinguished Iraqi women in their fields of specialization through creative awards or documentary films highlighting their achievements.
8. Increasing community awareness of women's status and rights and combating violence by organizing more training courses and conducting research in cooperation with specialized centers.
