Technology Incubator and Ecosystem Unit

The Technology Incubator and Ecosystem Unit was established at the College of Veterinary Medicine in 2023 and is affiliated with the Technology Incubator Division at the University Presidency. It is a platform and supportive space for developing innovative ideas and projects, particularly in technological fields. Incubators provide entrepreneurs and innovators with the necessary resources, such as funding, training, consulting, infrastructure, and opportunities to connect with investors and experts. The unit also aims to enhance knowledge and capabilities within the university community.
Objectives of the Technology Incubator
The primary objective of the unit is to embrace and support entrepreneurial ideas developed by entrepreneurs at the university across various sectors and transform them into real projects that contribute to strengthening and developing the national economy. Other objectives of establishing the unit include:
  1. Promoting the culture of entrepreneurship among university students, staff, graduates, and the surrounding community.
  2. Providing training on creating small projects and avoiding common failures that may occur during their implementation.
  3. Educating entrepreneurs on methods of protecting their innovations and creative ideas.
  4. Adopting entrepreneurial ideas and providing technical support.
  5. Training and supporting entrepreneurs in the field of entrepreneurial business planning and providing support throughout the implementation period.
  6. Overcoming the administrative, financial, and legislative obstacles facing entrepreneurs in Iraq by activating mechanisms within the applicable legislation in a manner that supports university-based projects.
Tasks of the Technology Incubator Unit
  1. Providing legal, technical, administrative, training, marketing, and consulting services.
  2. Providing investment services related to feasibility studies and facilitating access to sources of funding.
  3. Providing financial, administrative, and marketing support and consultation, in addition to administrative or technical training for incubated projects.
