Vision
The College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Kirkuk aspires to be a distinguished educational, research and advisory institution in the field of education and community service. The college awards its veterinary graduates with a Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine and Surgery after scientifically and professionally qualifying them to protect livestock from infectious and fatal diseases, protect humans from and reduce common diseases, preserve the environment from pollution, diagnose and treat animal diseases to preserve and develop livestock, increase their production efficiency, and monitor animal-based foods. The college's future vision is to achieve the level and status of prestigious colleges through its educational programs and research activities that adhere to accreditation standards and ensure high quality, qualifying it to join the international and national rankings that suit it.
The College's Mission:
1. To prepare and qualify distinguished graduates in the field of veterinary medicine by developing the teaching staff, fostering a spirit of scientific research, developing and establishing scientific laboratories in specific specializations, and improving the quality of education by holding training courses, workshops, and seminars within the activities of the Continuing Education Unit.
2. The College seeks to improve the quality of educational performance and advance the educational process through genuine partnerships with other educational institutions.
3. The College seeks to achieve quality in preparing students with solid scientific and professional preparation, qualifying them to serve society in their field of specialization.
4. To conduct graduation research by final-year students, considering it a graduation requirement, and to update it to keep pace with contemporary scientific developments, while moving toward applied research that serves the needs of society.
College Objectives:
1. To teach students various basic and applied veterinary sciences over the five academic years.
2. To emphasize the practical aspect by college faculty and to teach students how to diagnose, treat, and prevent animal diseases.
3. To prepare scientifically and professionally qualified veterinary graduates to support the public, private, and mixed sectors.
4. To provide advice and guidance to animal breeders and owners of livestock and poultry projects on the best methods for managing, developing, and improving these projects. This is to preserve livestock, a source of national wealth that supports the national economy.
5. To protect humans from common diseases.
6. To actively participate with similar colleges and local, Arab, and international universities by holding lectures, courses, seminars, and attending international conferences to promote scientific and cultural cooperation and exchange.
7. Holding continuing education courses in various veterinary specialties for veterinarians to develop their scientific and clinical knowledge.
8. Developing scientific research and postgraduate studies in veterinary sciences, with the goal of solving veterinary problems facing society.
9. Based on the concept of "One Environment - One Health," the college seeks to contribute effectively to environmental protection by holding scientific conferences and seminars.
