The Women's Empowerment Unit was established in our college on November 23, 2021.The unit's name was changed to the Women's Affairs Unit.

Main Tasks:

1- Involving women in leadership roles

2- Encouraging women's participation in committees and public roles

3- Providing women with non-traditional educational and training opportunities

4- Involving women in decision-making processes

5- Formulating and overseeing the implementation of all initiatives, plans, and projects related to women

6- Supporting young female researchers who conduct outstanding research at an early age during their doctoral studies, based on a selection process by specialized committees.

7- Honoring creative and distinguished Iraqi women in their respective fields through awards or by producing documentaries about their achievements.

8- Raising community awareness about women's status and rights and combating violence by conducting more workshops and research in collaboration with specialized centers.

The Unit's Mission:

The Women's Empowerment Unit is one of the most important units striving to eliminate all forms of discrimination against women through mechanisms that enable them to become self-reliant. Empowering women makes development more inclusive and participatory between men and women. Thus, development is not merely social welfare for women, but rather social development aimed at empowering women to possess the elements of economic and social strength, enabling them to become self-reliant, continuously improve their circumstances, and participate in decision-making.

 

Unit Objectives:

1. Supporting Women: Providing support and assistance to women in various fields, such as education, employment, and health.

2. Empowering Women: Working to empower women by providing the necessary opportunities and resources to achieve their goals.

3. Promoting Equality: Working to promote gender equality in various fields.

4. Providing Advice: Offering advice and consultation to women on various issues.
