Information about veterinary medicine

Veterinary Medicine:

This is the medical science concerned with the health of all animals (domestic, production, and wild), the diagnosis of their diseases, and their treatment. It encompasses broad fields such as surgery, veterinary public health, nutrition, and zoonotic diseases, making it a vital profession for maintaining animal and human health and ensuring food safety. The program typically lasts five years and includes the study of basic and applied sciences such as anatomy, biochemistry, surgery, health control, and genetics.

The curriculum is taught in English. One of the unique features of this college is that the top student in the first year transfers to the College of Pharmacy or Dentistry. During their five years of study, students receive instruction in various veterinary medical sciences, qualifying them to obtain a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in Veterinary Medicine. The college comprises eight academic departments, and its objectives center on graduating veterinarians capable of providing veterinary health services that benefit both human and animal public health.

Key areas of veterinary medicine include:

Clinical Medicine: Treating domestic animals and livestock in veterinary clinics and hospitals.

Veterinary Public Health: Monitoring animal diseases, inspecting food of animal origin (meat, dairy), and ensuring its safety.
