About the Physiology, Biochemistry, and Pharmacology Department
The Physiology, Biochemistry, and Pharmacology Department is one of the most important scientific departments established in the college, having been founded on October 10, 2018. As part of the College of Veterinary Medicine, the department teaches chemistry, physiology, and pharmacology to first-year students, and general chemistry and biochemistry and physiology to second-year students. The department strives to be a leading department in research and teaching among its counterparts in Iraqi veterinary colleges. It conducts joint scientific research with other disciplines at the forefront of basic veterinary medical science research, and provides high-level education and learning for undergraduate students. The department actively participates with other basic and clinical veterinary medical science departments to exchange expertise in areas of common interest. The faculty of the Physiology, Biochemistry, and Pharmacology Department is committed to collaborative work and research with highly qualified individuals, and to providing the necessary resources to facilitate research. Learning.
The department relies on highly experienced faculty members with excellent teaching and research qualifications to teach physiology, biochemistry, and pharmacology. Teaching utilizes specimens prepared by the department's teaching staff from various animal organs for the purpose of comparing different animal groups, thus keeping pace with the teaching methods of other Arab and international universities. The department aims to transfer scientific knowledge of animal anatomy and its various parts.
The department is equipped with laboratories for delivering the required lessons in its specialization. In addition, there is a laboratory equipped with the latest educational equipment and a hall equipped with numerous light microscopes for teaching practical subjects.
Vision: To be a distinguished center for providing education in the fields of physiology, biochemistry, and pharmacology.
Mission: To provide students with the necessary knowledge to understand the body's biological processes and how drugs affect them.
