A Faculty Member at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences Delivers a Qualitative Lecture at the College of Mass Communication on "Confronting Intellectual Extremism"

The Head of the Media and Government Communication Division at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Assistant Lecturer Ali Abdul Razzaq, delivered a qualitative lecture at the College of Mass Communication, addressing one of the most important contemporary issues in intellectual security.

The lecture was entitled: "The Intellectual Roots of Violent Extremist Movements, Ways to Confront Them, and the Role of Media in Rejecting Extremism and Intellectual Terrorism".

The lecture touched upon analyzing the deep intellectual and social causes that contribute to the emergence of extremist movements, while reviewing the means to limit the spread of these destructive ideas by enhancing community awareness and consolidating the values of moderation, centrism, and tolerance.

It also shed light on the pivotal role of the media in countering hate speech, by spreading targeted awareness messages, promoting a culture of constructive dialogue, and consolidating the concepts of intellectual security and societal peace, to ensure the protection of community segments, especially the youth, from slipping towards extremist ideas.

In conclusion, the lecture witnessed wide interaction from the attendees, who appreciated the importance of joining efforts between different scientific disciplines to build a conscious and cohesive society capable of facing intellectual challenges.
