Scientific Division

  • The Division of Scientific Affairs was created according to Administrative Order No. 537 on 5/12/2020, based on the letter of the Presidency of the University of Kirkuk, Organizational Structure Committee, numbered 7/27/3262 on 4/30/2020. Units A - Research, Development, and Studies, B - Planning, C are included within the Division. - Missions and cultural relations.
    A- Research and development:

    The Research and Development Department at the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences seeks to find appropriate mechanisms for mutual benefit between state departments to shed light on the problems and obstacles of the promotional and health aspects of state departments. The vision of this department is to be the reference for the college’s strategies in building plans and programs that support research capabilities through policy development. And organizational procedures between the university institution and the rest of the state departments and cooperation with university units regarding the preparation and application of executive plans and the formation of the necessary work teams for research development activities with other institutions. This is done from several axes:

    1- Cooperating with university units on preparing and implementing executive plans and forming the necessary work teams for research development activities with other institutions.

    2- Making all the necessary arrangements for the researcher’s work through communication between the researcher and the trainees and following up on the training process before, during and after its implementation.

    3- Supervising researchers in a manner appropriate to the work and rate of achievement of researchers, and keeping files related to each teaching staff.

    4- Participate in developing the strategic plan for activities and mechanisms that achieve that plan, relying on government institutions.

    5- Spreading the culture of research and development, applying standards, following up on the accompanying activities, conducting internal audits, and monitoring the training, educational or recreational process, with the necessary corrective and preventive measures.

    6- Publishing studies, scientific research, and guides to enhance the culture of cognitive awareness in the field of skills development, and posting this on the college’s website to ensure research efforts related to the college.

    7- Determine the research needs of the target groups and develop an appropriate plan to conduct appropriate studies for them.

    8- Arranging and promoting the research plan for all teachers.

    9-Work tab for the distinguished employees’ channel.

    10- Nomination of distinguished research for the first student in preliminary studies.

    11- Addressing the university presidency in seminars and conferences held in all different universities and colleges.

    12- Research missions and fellowships programmes.

    B- Studies and Planning Unit.

    1- Preparing and following up on the plans presented by the scientific branches and referring them to the university for approval.

    2- Follow up and unify the quarterly activities of the scientific branches, unify them, and send them to the Ministry

    3- Preparing the technical university statistics and the annual report related to collecting the numbers of primary studies students.

    4- Preparing the annual statistical guide.

    5- Preparing statistics on graduate students for preliminary studies.

    6- Prepare a detailed database on teachers, employees, and undergraduate students using the unified statistical system for higher education information.

    7-Creating a database of teachers’ research.

    8- Create a database for conferences, seminars and workshops.

    9- Establishing a database for university buildings, laboratories and libraries

    10- Sending monthly qualitative achievement reports to the college.

    C- Missions and Cultural Relations Unit.

    The idea of forming a Cultural Relations Unit in the college stemmed from the fact of the importance of the college in transmitting and disseminating culture and the necessity of transforming the college’s capabilities into radiant energies outside the boundaries of the classrooms. The unit’s work includes everything related to scholarships and loans for teachers and employees in the college, in addition to fellowships and scholarships.

    Unit objectives:

    The Cultural Relations Unit aims to raise the scientific competence of the college’s members, including teachers and employees, through participation in scientific conferences held in universities and scientific centers outside Iraq, in addition to scholarships, fellowships, academic vacations, and training and development courses that are held for students in universities around the world, according to their specializations, in order to introduce them to foreign cultures and raise their level.
