Coinciding with the start of the new academic year and the arrival of students at the College of Media, the Student Activities Division—specifically the Cultural Unit—has issued an awareness brochure. The initiative aims to promote health awareness, outline influenza prevention methods, and curb the spread of infection within the university environment.
This initiative reflects a commitment to the safety of students, faculty, and administrative staff, and supports the creation of a healthy, safe educational environment that fosters stability in academic operations at the start of the school year.
The brochure includes a set of preventive guidelines, most notably: washing hands regularly with soap and water; avoiding touching the eyes, nose, or mouth without first cleaning one's hands; ventilating classrooms and enclosed spaces; and getting the seasonal flu vaccine in accordance with approved health guidelines.
It also outlines steps to take in the event of infection, such as resting and getting sufficient sleep, increasing fluid intake, observing proper cough and sneeze etiquette, wearing a mask when necessary, and avoiding close contact with others to limit transmission. Additionally, it emphasizes the importance of consulting a doctor or pharmacist regarding the use of fever-reducing medications and painkillers.
