The Women’s Affairs Unit, in cooperation with the Student Activities Division and the Voluntary Work Unit, organized a humanitarian visit to the elderly care home. This initiative falls within the framework of community efforts aimed at promoting the values of social solidarity and consolidating the spirit of humanitarian responsibility.
The visit included meeting several residents of the home and spending time with them in an atmosphere of friendliness and appreciation. This was an expression of care for this important segment of society and an effort to bring joy to their hearts, while also emphasizing the importance of human connection with the elderly in recognition of the contributions and experience they have provided to society. During the visit, participants presented a range of essential materials and supplies to the home's management to support its needs and contribute to providing a more comfortable environment for the residents.
In her speech, Ms. Shafaq Zain Al-Abidin Shihab, Head of the Voluntary Work Unit, explained that these humanitarian initiatives are conducted under the guidance and support of the College Deanship. She noted that they aim to establish a culture of voluntary work and enhance the values of cooperation and social solidarity among the faculty and staff, thereby contributing to community service and care for the elderly.
This visit is part of a series of voluntary activities and initiatives that the College is keen to organize, with the goal of spreading the culture of volunteerism and strengthening humanitarian bonds among various segments of society.
