The College of Engineering Council held its seventh regular session for morning studies and the third for evening studies for the academic year 2024/2025, headed by Professor Dr. Jalnak Akram Omar, Dean of the College, in the presence of the Dean's Assistants and Department Heads. The session began with a welcoming speech by the Council Chairwoman, where she stressed the importance of developing the educational process and publishing scientific research in scientific journals, whether local or international. The University President's directives were emphasized regarding improving quality ratings, preparing for the new academic year, and maintaining academic facilities with a focus on adhering to appropriate admission plans and the college's material and human capabilities, and increasing green spaces.
The Council Chairwoman discussed the necessity of adhering to official working hours and wearing modest clothing, and the importance of facilitating student transactions, while emphasizing that employees perform their duties accurately.
In academic affairs, the request for academic promotion for a lecturer from the Civil Engineering Department was discussed, which was approved after fulfilling the required conditions. Requests for teaching leave for some professors to teach in private universities were also considered. In student affairs, the Council discussed the lists of second-round graduates in some academic departments and approved the treatments for critical grade cases. Scientific committees were formed for the departments according to the controls to enhance research work, and focused on scientific and student issues. The sessions concluded with wishes to achieve the college's aspirations and advance the educational process.
