The Dean of the College of Engineering at Kirkuk University, Prof. Dr. Jalnak Akram Omar, opened the 21st University Day Festival at the College of Engineering today, Sunday, November 10, 2024, in the presence of a group of distinguished academic figures, deans of colleges, and teaching professors, with wide participation from students from various scientific departments in the college. This festival came to celebrate the University Day and showcase the achievements and projects of students, and exchange experiences between attendees and participants. The festival activities began with an opening tour by the Dean of the College and the accompanying delegation to the Engineering Projects Exhibition, which included a large number of innovative projects, which were completed by students under the supervision of their professors. The projects covered various aspects of engineering specializations, including projects related to sustainable energy technology, advanced electronic devices, smart engineering solutions, in addition to engineering innovations aimed at serving the Iraqi community and the city of Kirkuk. The attendees expressed their admiration for the scientific and creative level presented by the students. In addition to the engineering projects exhibition, the festival hosted an art exhibition of plastic arts and handicrafts, which included creative paintings and handicrafts that reflect the students' creative skills and artistic sense. A scientific discussion and exchange of opinions and purposeful ideas took place between students and participants. In her speech, Professor Dr. Jelnik Akram Omar praised the high level of the displayed projects and the great efforts made by the students to achieve these innovations. She stressed that the festival constitutes an important station to support and encourage innovation and creativity among students, and works to highlight their potential and talents to the academic and local community. She also commended the efforts of the faculty and administrative staff at the college and the committees supervising the organization and success of this major event, and expressed her appreciation to the participating students for their dedication and efforts. For their part, the students expressed their happiness to participate in the festival and expressed their pride in the opportunity to display their works and projects at this level. They also pointed out the importance of the festival as an opportunity to learn, exchange ideas, and open new horizons for development and innovation.
