The College of Basic Education organized a scientific workshop titled "The Risks of Drug Abuse and Its Impact on Society," presented by instructors Assistant Lecturer Rahiq Isa Mohammed and Assistant Lecturer Raghad Mohammed Said. The workshop addressed the health and psychological harms resulting from drug abuse, in addition to the negative effects on the family and society, such as increased crime rates and family disintegration. It also reviewed the causes leading to addiction, including psychological and social pressures, and the role of awareness in preventing this dangerous phenomenon. The lecturers emphasized the importance of educational institutions in raising awareness about the risks of drugs and promoting moral values among students to avoid falling into this scourge.
