College of Administration and Economics at the University of Kirkuk Organizes an Awareness Workshop on Combating Drug Abuse in Cooperation with the Community Police

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Kirkuk, Prof. Dr. Imran Jamal Hassan, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Administration and Economics, Assistant Prof. Dr. Essam Hadi Muhammad, the College of Administration and Economics organized an awareness workshop entitled “Combating Drugs,” as part of the activities of the Continuous Education Division and in cooperation with the Community Police Directorate. The event was attended by the Dean of the College, along with several faculty members, staff, and students.

28 4 928 4 1028 4 11The workshop was presented by Lieutenant Colonel (Legal) Ghanem Ibrahim Ali, who addressed the definition and dangers of drugs and psychotropic substances, the reasons behind their spread, and their negative impacts on individuals, families, and society. He also outlined the legal and social mechanisms necessary to curb this phenomenon, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between educational and security institutions to foster community awareness.

28 4 1328 4 12The workshop aimed to educate students on the dangers of drug abuse and psychotropic substances, highlighting their negative consequences on health, behavior, and academic futures. Furthermore, it sought to enhance preventive awareness among youth and reinforce a sense of social responsibility to confront this phenomenon and limit its spread.

28 4 1628 4 18The workshop witnessed remarkable engagement from the attendees through questions and discussions, emphasizing the importance of continuing such awareness-raising activities that contribute to protecting youth and boosting their preventive culture.
