The College of Nursing was established in the city of Kirkuk on 07/23/2002 and was affiliated with the Presidency of the University of Mosul

Then it dissolved and was transferred to the University of Kirkuk after its creation on January 17 2003, because there is an urgent need in the province for this professional and humanitarian specialization. Students are admitted to the college who are graduates of the preparatory study, the scientific branch, and the first graduates of the technical institute/nursing department, and the first graduates of nursing preparations. The college grants graduate a bachelor’s degree in nursing sciences. The number of teachers is (31) teaching and the number of students is (399) students for morning studies and (609) students for evening study for the academic year 2017/2018. It includes two branches, namely

Basic Nursing Sciences Branch.

Clinical Nursing Sciences Branch.
