The College of Pharmacy, through the Continuing Education Division, held a scientific symposium entitled (Viral Hepatitis and its Spread Methods) on Monday, 4/22/2024.
The symposium included a lecture in which Assistant Lecturer Ali Nazim Ahmed addressed the definition of viral hepatitis and its known types (A, B, C, D, E), which affects liver cells in particular in different age groups and is considered one of the most dangerous health problems facing public health in the world and in Iraq.
He also explained the ways in which the disease is transmitted through contaminated food, body fluids and contaminated blood, as well as methods of prevention, which are summarized in staying away from contaminated foods, vaccination against the disease, and laboratory testing of viral blood before donation.
