About the Department

The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the College of Pharmacy, University of Kirkuk, was established in 2019. The department teaches the fundamental branches of chemical sciences, including Organic, Analytical, Inorganic, Physical Chemistry, and Medicinal Chemistry. It provides students with essential knowledge regarding chemical compounds, chemical reactions, standardization of chemical solutions, and their pharmacological effects. The department establishes a core understanding of the relationship between chemistry and pharmacy and collaborates with other college departments to prepare competent pharmacists ready to serve in all regions of Iraq, providing pharmaceutical and health services in both public and private sectors.

Objectives

Teaching various branches of chemistry and preparing students for professional practice while developing their core skills, guiding them to interact with surrounding environmental problems and finding solutions, and playing an active role in pharmaceutical manufacturing, analysis, and quality control.
