The University Psychological Counseling Unit at the College of Pharmacy, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, organized an orientation seminar for first-year students entitled "Cheating: A Negative Phenomenon Threatening Academic Values," on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.
The seminar covered several topics, during which Assistant Lecturers Yahya Abdulghafour Mohammed, Shahd Adel Omar, and Waad Abdulrahman Mukhlif explained the concept of academic cheating, its psychological and educational causes, its negative effects on the student's personality and academic performance, and its repercussions on society and the educational institution. They also outlined the penalties and university regulations related to this phenomenon.
The seminar aimed to raise awareness among first-year students about the importance of adhering to ethical values and academic integrity, and to instill the principle of self-reliance and build self-confidence, thereby contributing to creating a healthy university environment based on honesty and academic responsibility.
