Dean of the College of Nursing / University of Kirkuk Participates in the Activities of the Second International Scientific Conference

Professor Dr. Hiwa Star Salih, Dean of the College of Nursing at the University of Kirkuk and Deputy Head of the Deans’ Committee of Nursing Colleges in Iraq, participated on Saturday, June 6, 2026, in the activities of the Second International Scientific Conference on Modern Trends in Nursing Specialties and Clinical Applications (MINSCA-2026), hosted by the University of Karbala with wide participation of researchers, academics, and specialists in nursing sciences from various universities and health institutions.

The conference was held under the slogan “Towards Safer and Higher-Quality Nursing Care: Current Challenges and Future Prospects,” where it discussed the latest scientific developments and clinical applications in the field of nursing, as well as reviewed experiences and expertise aimed at improving the quality of healthcare services and advancing nursing care standards.

The participation of the Dean reflects the College of Nursing at the University of Kirkuk’s commitment to strengthening its scientific and academic presence in local and international forums, and to expanding prospects for scientific cooperation and knowledge exchange with researchers and specialists, thereby contributing to the development of academic and research programs and keeping pace with modern advancements in the nursing profession.

The conference featured the presentation of several scientific research papers and specialized works addressing contemporary nursing issues and the challenges facing the healthcare sector, as well as discussing ways to develop nursing staff skills and improve the quality of patient care.

In conclusion, the participants emphasized the importance of continuing scientific collaboration between nursing colleges, healthcare institutions, and academic bodies, in order to support scientific research and develop nursing practices in line with the latest international standards.
