The Industrial Advisory Council at the College of Nursing Holds Its First Meeting for the Academic Year 2025–2026

The Industrial Advisory Council at the College of Nursing / University of Kirkuk held its first meeting for the academic year 2025–2026, in the presence of council members and representatives of relevant health authorities, within the framework of strengthening partnership and cooperation between the college and the health sector, and supporting quality and programmatic accreditation requirements.

The meeting included the discussion of several important topics related to the development of the educational process, foremost among which were mechanisms for developing students’ clinical training and aligning learning outcomes with the requirements of the labor market, contributing to the preparation of graduates who possess the scientific competence and professional skills necessary to work in healthcare institutions.

The council also discussed the adoption of a set of key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the quality of the academic program and monitor the extent of achieving its objectives, as well as examining mechanisms for implementing the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) as a modern standardized tool for assessing students’ clinical skills according to approved academic standards.

The council recommended the preparation of a memorandum of understanding between the College of Nursing and the Kirkuk Health Directorate to enhance joint cooperation in the fields of clinical training, scientific research, and continuing education, contributing to the development of graduates’ competencies and improving the quality of healthcare services provided to the community.

At the conclusion of the meeting, attendees emphasized the importance of continuing communication and coordination between the college and relevant healthcare institutions, in order to achieve integration between both sides and contribute to advancing nursing education and meeting quality and academic accreditation requirements.
