College of Nursing Organizes a Student Workshop on the Professional Success Requirements for Nursing Graduates

Under the direct supervision of Professor Dr. Hiwa Star Salih, Dean of the College of Nursing, the Continuing Education Unit, in collaboration with the Quality Assurance and Performance Evaluation Division, the Alumni Follow-up Committee, and the Rehabilitation and Employment Unit at the college, organized a student workshop entitled “Professional Success Requirements for Nursing Graduates” on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.

The workshop aimed to introduce students and graduates to the key competencies and skills that contribute to achieving professional success after graduation, and to highlight the requirements of the labor market in the public, private, and healthcare sectors. It also focused on enhancing their abilities in effective communication, teamwork within the medical team, time management, and sound professional decision-making.

The workshop included several topics addressing the importance of continuous professional development, and the role of training courses and qualification programs in improving graduates’ competencies and increasing their chances of obtaining suitable job opportunities. It also emphasized the importance of adherence to nursing ethics and the acquisition of scientific and practical experience that contributes to improving professional performance.

The workshop witnessed active engagement from participating students through questions and inquiries related to their professional future and ways to develop their personal and professional skills. Practical guidance and advice were provided to help them build a successful career path and keep pace with the rapid developments in the healthcare field.

This workshop is part of a series of scientific and awareness activities organized by the College of Nursing to prepare students and graduates and enhance their readiness for integration into the labor market, in line with the university’s vision of preparing qualified nursing staff with the scientific competence and professional skills required to serve society and the healthcare sector.

In conclusion, the organizers emphasized the importance of continuing such training and qualification programs due to their effective role in developing students’ and graduates’ capabilities, enabling them to face professional challenges and achieve excellence and success in their future careers.
