In its commitment to providing a safe and positive university environment and enhancing students' psychological and educational awareness, the College of Media at Kirkuk University is working to activate the role of the Guidance Unit in evening studies. This is being achieved through a series of awareness and guidance initiatives aimed at addressing and mitigating negative phenomena and fostering positive behavior within the university community.
These initiatives include establishing a guidance box to receive and follow up on observations and suggestions related to negative phenomena, as well as distributing a series of posters and informational displays containing psychological and educational instructions and advice to raise student awareness.
The initiatives also include activating the role of liaison officers in academic departments and strengthening coordination between them and the Guidance Unit to monitor student cases and provide necessary support. Furthermore, a guidance hour has been incorporated into the weekly lecture schedule, dedicated to awareness, guidance, and discussions of student issues, thereby promoting a spirit of cooperation, respect, and responsibility.
These steps are part of the college's efforts to establish a culture of university guidance and enhance students' psychological well-being and social adjustment, contributing to building a supportive and motivating learning environment conducive to success and excellence.
