The University Psychological Counseling Division at the Faculty of Mass Communication organized an awareness seminar on verbal harassment on campus. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about the dangers of this phenomenon, foster a culture of mutual respect, and contribute to creating a safe university environment that upholds the dignity of students and all members of the university community.
The seminar addressed the concept of verbal harassment and its primary manifestations—including inappropriate language, comments, and insinuations that compromise the dignity of others or violate their privacy. It also explored the root causes of such behavior, its psychological and social consequences, and its negative impact on human relationships and the overall sense of security within the university setting.
Furthermore, the seminar emphasized the importance of addressing these behaviors by promoting community awareness, reinforcing values of respect and responsibility, and encouraging students to report instances of harassment through official, established channels. Such measures help curb the prevalence of harassment and promote positive conduct across the campus.
This seminar is part of a broader range of awareness and counseling activities designed to cultivate a university environment characterized by respect and cooperation, while embedding the values of human dignity and shared responsibility among all members of the university community.
