The College of Media at Kirkuk University—represented by the Head of the Journalism Department and the Rapporteur of the Radio and Television Department—participated in the specialized academic training program "Masar Mutajaddid" (Renewed Path). Hosted by the College of Media at the University of Baghdad in collaboration with the French academy *France Médias Monde*, the event brought together academic leaders and representatives from media colleges and departments across Iraqi universities.
The program featured a series of panel discussions and interactive workshops focused on modernizing media education methods and keeping pace with digital transformations. Particular emphasis was placed on the "Flipped Learning" strategy and the mechanisms for implementing it within media studies.
The workshops addressed several key academic topics, most notably digital transformation in education. This involves preparing lectures and educational materials in digital formats and making them available to students prior to class—thereby fostering self-directed learning and advance preparation—while utilizing lecture time for practical applications and interactive activities rather than relying solely on theoretical instruction.
The program also addressed the development of curricula and study plans to align with the rapid shifts in the media landscape, specifically in areas such as digital journalism, modern technologies, and the integration of contemporary media tools into the educational process.
The College of Media’s participation in this program reflects its commitment to enhancing the educational process, fostering the exchange of academic expertise, and leveraging modern international practices in media education. These efforts aim to develop students' skills and align educational outcomes with the evolving demands of the media labor market.
