A doctoral thesis at the College of Law and Political Science at Kirkuk University discussed: Legal procedures for compensation for resulting damages
The thesis submitted by the student: Aqeel Wissam Abdel Jassim aimed to explain the modern criminal legal frameworks to protect the rights of crime victims, and to find the optimal solution to issues of compensation for the harm caused to the victim through an alternative mechanism, whether in a criminal or civil lawsuit.
The thesis concluded that it demonstrated the importance of preliminary acts related to mutual legal assistance to ensure compensation for the resulting damages, including locating valuables, seizing and confiscating property obtained as a result of a crime in order to compensate for damages and imposing fines.
