Industry Advisory Board – Department of Civil Engineering

A Brief Overview of the Industrial Advisory Board for the Department of Civil Engineering

The Department of Civil Engineering has established an Industrial Advisory Board consisting of a group of experienced engineers representing various governmental sectors in Kirkuk Governorate. The board includes seven consulting experts with diverse specializations in civil engineering, along with faculty members from the department. The board meets at least once during each academic semester to review the program’s educational objectives, evaluate graduate outcomes, and provide recommendations for curriculum enhancement and development.

The Advisory Board conducts regular meetings to discuss curriculum updates and strategies for the continuous improvement of the Civil Engineering Program. These activities help ensure that the program remains responsive to both current and anticipated labor market requirements. The department highly values the board’s expertise and consultation in areas related to student development, curriculum improvement, and the refinement of the technical aspects of the program’s educational objectives.

In addition, the Civil Engineering Program works closely with Advisory Board members to identify opportunities for collaboration with relevant institutions and governmental departments employing experienced engineers. Such partnerships aim to facilitate the transfer of practical knowledge and professional experience to students and graduates through seminars, workshops, and other professional activities. These initiatives contribute to strengthening the connection between academic theory and practical engineering applications and help prepare graduates to meet the demands of the civil engineering profession.
