University of Kirkuk’s College of Engineering Organizes a Scientific Visit for Petroleum Engineering Students to North Oil Company

The College of Engineering at the University of Kirkuk organized a scientific field visit for fourth-stage students of the Petroleum Engineering Department to the North Oil Company (NOC).

The scientific field visit included touring the most prominent stations in oil and gas production operations within the Production Department of the company's Operations Authority. Students observed the workflow at the "Baba Gas Oil Separation Plant" (GOSP), where oil is separated from gas, and the "AB/3 Gas Compression Station," which receives gas and increases its pressure for transport through the pipeline network.

The faculty supervisor of the visit, Assistant Professor Dr. Mohammed Jawad Zain Al-Abidin, stated that the Petroleum Engineering Department, as part of its plan to prepare petroleum engineering cadres, works on educating and cultivating students in their field of specialization—not only theoretically but also by reinforcing knowledge with field observations. This falls within the framework of scientific cooperation between the University of Kirkuk and both governmental and international oil companies.oil1oil2
