College of Engineering at Kirkuk University shines in the University Debate World Cup at Al-Kitab University

Under the patronage of the President of Kirkuk University, Prof. Dr. Imran Jamal Hassan, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Engineering, Prof. Dr. Jalnak Akram Omar, the College of Engineering at Kirkuk University participated in the second edition of the Iraqi Universities Debate World Cup, hosted by Al-Kitab University in Kirkuk Governorate. This participation came in cooperation between the Rehabilitation, Employment and Follow-up Division at Kirkuk University and the Student Activities Division at the College of Engineering, in the presence of the Division’s Head, Mr. Ali Jamil, with the aim of developing students’ skills in dialogue and debate and developing their intellectual and critical abilities.
The task of training and qualifying the participating students was assigned to a special committee consisting of five members specialized in several fields, which contributed to preparing them to enter the competition with confidence and competence. The student Yamama Ibrahim Jamil from the Department of Chemical Engineering stood out, representing the college within the debate team.
On the other hand, the championship witnessed the presence of international judges, among whom was the lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the College of Engineering at Kirkuk University, lecturer M.M. Hatem Al-Ramli, one of the members of the judging committee.
Kirkuk University team achieved remarkable progress by defeating Al-Kitab University team, thus qualifying for the next stage of the qualifiers, to continue its path towards competing for the championship title amidst an atmosphere of challenge and professionalism. This participation and the achievements made during it fall within the vision of Kirkuk University, in supporting student activities that support personal and academic skills among students, and advance them scientifically and culturally, which contributes to preparing them to be effective cadres in serving society and the nation.
