A Faculty Member from the College of Engineering at the University of Kirkuk Participates in a Ministerial Committee for the Establishment of a Master’s Program at the University of Babylon

Dr. Mariwan Rida Faris, Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the College of Engineering – University of Kirkuk, participated as a member of the ministerial committee tasked with evaluating the proposal for the establishment of a Master's program in Water Environmental Management at the Department of Environmental Engineering – College of Engineering – University of Babylon.

This participation comes within the framework of academic collaboration and scientific coordination among Iraqi universities. As part of its duties, the ministerial committee conducted a field visit to the Department of Environmental Engineering to assess the available material and human resources, including laboratories, infrastructure, and qualified teaching staff, in order to evaluate the department's readiness to launch this advanced academic program.

Following an in-depth study and comprehensive assessment, the committee recommended approving the establishment of the Master's program in Water Environmental Management, highlighting the program’s importance in promoting scientific research and developing national expertise in the field of environmental and water resources management.

At the conclusion of the visit, the committee expressed its best wishes for the success of the Environmental Engineering Department at the University of Babylon in its academic endeavor, affirming that the establishment of this program marks a significant step toward meeting Iraq’s needs in the areas of sustainable development and environmental protection.
