A meeting at the College of Engineering at the University of Kirkuk to complete the procedures for issuing the “Kirkuk University Journal of Engineering Sciences”

The College of Engineering at Kirkuk University, headed by the Dean, Prof. Dr. Jeleng Akram Omar, held an extended meeting with the members of the committee of the “Kirkuk University Journal of Engineering Sciences” to follow up on the final procedures related to issuing the journal. The Dean began the meeting with a welcoming speech, in which she stressed the importance of this major scientific project that seeks to shed light on distinguished engineering research and provide a prestigious scientific platform that consolidates the university’s position locally and internationally.

During the meeting, the committee reviewed the progress made in preparing the journal, including setting the broad outlines of publishing controls and mechanisms for receiving and evaluating research. Discussions focused on adhering to the scientific and academic standards adopted in international engineering journals, while emphasizing the importance of accuracy and transparency in arbitration and review processes.

The Dean explained the need to facilitate communication between researchers and arbitrators to ensure that evaluation processes are completed on time, stressing that the journal should be an honorable facade for the college and researchers from inside and outside the university. During the meeting, various organizational and administrative matters were discussed, such as identifying the editorial team and ensuring technical readiness to print and publish the first issues, whether in paper or electronic versions.
The Dean praised the efforts made by the members of the magazine committee, and urged them to continue working as one team to ensure the success of this ambitious project. At the end of the meeting, a set of practical steps were agreed upon to complete all remaining procedures to ensure the publication of the first issue of the magazine according to the scheduled timetable, with a promise to continue periodic meetings to evaluate what has been accomplished.
