A lecturer from the College of Engineering/Department of Electrical Engineering publishes a research paper on the design of a quadruple oscillator generator based on FinFET technology

Arsan Ahmed Mohammed, a lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering, in cooperation with a lecturer from a Turkish university, published a scientific research on the design and study of a new type of quadruple oscillator generator (V-M.S.Q.O). This design includes a voltage-mode oscillator based on FinFET transistor technology, which reduces power consumption and improves circuit performance. The research was published under the title “Analysis of a voltage-mode quadruple oscillator based on FinFET transistor” in the Journal of Engineering Research, which is classified within the Scopus and Clarivate containers. The researchers explained that this design is based on the use of multi-output variable conductance amplifiers (M-Zc-VDTA), with the addition of three ground capacitors, which makes the circuit low-sensitive to negative changes in active and inactive elements. The circuit is characterized by its ability to generate orthogonal sinusoidal frequencies thanks to the ability to control the electronic base current and the oscillation frequency separately, which contributes to increasing the flexibility of the design. The circuit simulation was performed using the Cadence Virtuoso tool on a 7nm process, and the results demonstrated the design’s effectiveness and ability to provide signals required in electronic communication systems, such as modulation signals, amplitude modulation, and electronic control of the output current intensity.
