The College of Engineering participated in the humanitarian initiative to support sick children, organized by the Voluntary Work Division in cooperation with the units, colleges, and internal departments at the University of Kirkuk. The initiative included visiting children suffering from enzyme disorders at the Children's Hospital to observe their health conditions and provide them with psychological and moral support.
The Head of the Voluntary Work Division at the university, Professor Dr. Salwa Jirjis Salman, emphasized that this initiative stems from the societal and humanitarian role played by the university, and its constant keenness to support patients—especially children—and to promote the values of social solidarity and human compassion.
The visit included presenting various gifts to the children and spending time with them to listen to their needs and challenges, in a humanitarian atmosphere aimed at alleviating their suffering and bringing smiles to their faces.
At the conclusion of the initiative, the Deanship of the College of Engineering reaffirmed its continued support and participation in such humanitarian activities, believing in the importance of consolidating the humanitarian dimension in academic work and strengthening the relationship between the university and the community to serve those most in need and support societal stability.
